Hi! I hope that we've matched up on something that you're excited to write and that this letter provides some useful prompt ideas.
In general I gravitate towards gen fic that features world building, exploring little hints of deeper subjects mentioned in canon, and close friendships. I enjoy when stories involve navigating tricky situations, or when interesting psuedo-political matters get involved. Non-standard formats like epistlatory pieces and scrapbook stories are one of my favorite things, so if you're inclined to play around with format, I can only encourage you.
In terms of do not wants, I am not interested in smut, porn, and AUs unless otherwise specified. Ship matters are addressed fandom by fandom. I am okay with canonical level violence and sexuality.
Lord El-Melloi II Case Files
Characters: Any and all
Under most circumstances I would never go with "any and all." Case Files is the exception, because the anime has helped to bring a whole new group of people to the still mostly not-translated light novels which delights me deeply.
The tl;dr of why I love Case Files is both because it does fantastic world building with mage politics and because all of the action is grounded in fantastic character relationships across the board. While the absolutely delightful power relationship between Reines and Waver is my favorite, I love Waver's absolute love for Gray, how he interacts with the rest of the classroom, and lord everything about Melvin is just so much and so, so delightful.
As far as shipping goes, canon has made it very clear that Waver loves his king, but the man also has some big trauma related to it as well. I'm okay with touching on this, but I do not want it to be the center of the piece! Thank you for understanding.
Any fic that explores the relationships between the cast would be lovely, especially if it's similar to the first half of the season's one shots. A few thoughts:
--I'd love to see more of Melvin and Waver in their early Clock Tower days before the Grail War itself. How did they come to be friends? Were there roommate shenanigans? How does Clock Tower's class bullshit feed into everything?
--Everything about Reines and Waver and their power dynamics please! I love them, I love that Reines is a fucking goblin who owns this man, and I'm really interested to see how they've evolved to the point where they are now - especially since Waver was key in making VH a gosh darn maid.
--Am I here for students take a day off and fuck around London? Absolutely.
--I love the parallels between Faker+Gray with Iskandar+Waver in particular. It's a fascinating thing to explore since the question of Waver being on equal footing with his king is a huge element of Case Files overall. Exploring that in any capacity would be lovely.
Fate/Grand Order
Characters: Mash, Dr. Roman, Marisbilly, Cleopatra
Note: Not all requested characters need be present in the fic!
This is the last year that Fate/Grand Order will be available for Yuletide, and as always, Grand Order's massive cast makes it hard to narrow things down. I enjoy Grand Order because it lets one muck about with endless historical AUs, but also because it permits great historical interactions that could never happen otherwise. Since the characters selected here are kind of a weird group, it'll be divided into two chunks.
For Masters, I prefer the female version!
Mash, Roman, Marisbilly: They're a sort of matched set, although much of my interest comes from Roman being at the center point of them both. Roman's real identity is absolutely fascinating in and of itself, and I really love looking back at all the singularities with the knowledge of who he is.
I'm interested in Marisbilly both within the context of Clock Tower but also how his relationship with Roman evolved through their grail war, something we've only gotten hints and bits of. Likewise, exploring the early days of Chaldea up until Marisbilly's death would be fascinating, as would be the time Roman spends out in the modern world.
Roman and Mash's relationship is also of very particular interest to me, and again, we've seen flashes of it but I'd like to just spend some time with the two together.
Cleopatra: Cleopatra in the context of Fate/Grand Order intrigues me because she has a lot of connections in terms of other figures in the cast. Like Ozymandias and Nicortis, she's a pharaoh - the last of them. Her lineage goes right back to Ptolemy, a general who served with Iskandar himself. She has Cesar right there, but then there's all the other Julio-Claudians hanging out in Chaldea too.
All of this is to say that I'd love to see something that addresses some element of how Cleopatra sees herself in relation to all these elements, be it through introspection, character interaction, or a version of an interlude. Also ship-wise, obviously go with history here, along with speculation about which Dangan Ronpa Marc Antony's going to look like. We all know it'll happen eventually.
Castlevania (Cartoon)
Characters requested: Dracula
I've requested Castlevania quite a few times in exchanges, and this fandom doesn't disappoint. I love the OT3 dearly, but for this prompt I'm really interested in Dracula and well, everything. As of writing this, we have no information about s3's release, and I live in hope that it will explore more of Dracula's unlife.
I'm most interested in explore Dracula's life from the moment he set foot on Wallachian soil to the moment Lisa stabbed a knife into his door. What were his early fights with the earliest Belmonts like? How did the castle grow up around him? How did he become a giant nerd and build all the equipment that we see in the first scene of the first episode? There's a lot of rich ground to explore - as well as the question of how much Lisa and/or Alucard are aware of when it comes to Dracula's past.
I am 200% here for Lisa/Dracula, and not opposed to bringing in video game canon to fill in details.
